Four Steps to Create Happiness in Your Life

In this blog I want to share with you four steps to creating happiness in your life. I can hear you asking how is this dating advice?!

Because happy people are way more attractive, let’s face it no-one wants to date a miserable/unhappy person! With this in mind the best dating advice I can give you is to be happy with who you are and your life and guess what that starts with you!

All of your relationships start with you! Like attracts like so be what you would like to attract! Don’t sit back and wait for someone to ‘complete you’ or fill up your blank spots.

Here are four steps to create happiness in your life:

Step #1: Do what you really love – Take a moment to think about 4 things you really love doing. Don’t overthink it, everyone has things they enjoy – it could be playing sport, going to yoga, going fishing, reading a book, spending time with friends or family, being creative, travelling, trying that acting class you always wanted to try, etc. Now write them down and take the time to do the things you love each week, in fact get out your calendar and actually schedule in the time. When you think about it, it is a no brainer – when you take the time to do the things you love you will be happier. Fact: consistently doing what you love will dramatically increase your level of happiness. There is also the added bonus that you can meet someone like minded while you are doing what you love!

Step #2: Do something – It is time to stop waiting to take action! Having things sitting in the back of your head that you need to do or want to do does not make you happy. It is time to ask yourself is there something you have been holding back on? Maybe you want to travel but have been waiting to meet someone to go on that trip. Are you always waiting for the right moment to say or do something? There really isn’t a perfect time, so stop wasting your life cease the day – life is short, simply DO IT! Take the time to do what needs to be done today – there is an awesome feeling of achievement in doing that!

Step #3: Stop over-thinking – Did you know that all you are is a result of all you have thought! It isn’t what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about. And guess what you have control over your thoughts, therefore it is time to choose your thoughts as carefully as you choose your clothes! Research has found that people who think they are lucky are create good fortune in four ways. They create and notice opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies through positive expectations and have a resilient attitude that changes bad luck into good. If you find yourself worrying, overthinking/analysing or even obsessing about things then it is time to take a conscious effort to change that and let go of the downward spiral of bad thoughts. Step #4: Trust your gut feeling – Gut feeling or intuition – whatever you want to call it, it is time to trust it. Remember the study about happy people, they trusted their intuition and were able to create more opportunities for themselves. Happy people trust themselves and act on their intuition. Start to believe in yourself, to trust yourself to make the choices that make you feel good. Time to love yourself!
